What Do FNBO’s New ACH APIs Mean for You?
Author: Shane Beardslee, Vice President of Commercial Payments and Channel Sales
At FNBO, we are dedicated to continuous innovation and improvement of our core payment solutions. Our commitment benefits our wide customer base, from local businesses to large national fintech and software companies with embedded payment capabilities.
Even though we have extensive experience in the nuances of third-party ACH processing and rank in the top 15 of ACH processors in the United States, according to NACHA, we’re proud to announce that we have just released newly enhanced ACH APIs.
Here’s what these advancements mean for your business:
ACH Origination
- Originate ACH using a modern REST API. You get a more intuitive and efficient process for initiating payments, reducing the complexity traditionally associated with ACH transactions.
- Send transactions as they are received without the need to produce NACHA formatted ACH files. This allows you to streamline your workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Send transactions throughout the day, including same-day ACH. This flexibility means your payment processes can be as timely and responsive as your business needs demand.
- Submit transactions up to 45 days in the future. This feature supports better cash flow management and operational planning.
ACH Returns
- Deliver ACH returns and Notifications of Change (NOCs) via Webhook API. Stay informed with real-time notifications so you receive ACH returns and NOCs as soon as they occur, allowing for prompt action and resolution.
- Provide easy to interpret NOC code and descriptions with corrected data. (e.g. RT numbers, account numbers, etc.) This clarity simplifies the process of adjusting payment information.
- Reduce complexity by eliminating the need to process NACHA formatted ACH returns files. Managing and reconciling your transactions will be much easier.
- Provide easy to interpret return code and description. This minimizes confusion and enables quicker payment issue resolutions.
- Include the original ACH transaction data for research. Data access ensures you have all the information needed to address any discrepancies.
Additional Features
- Online API documentation with field descriptions and examples for a smooth implementation and integration process.
- Query for transactions submitted via API to retrieve transactions for research or display.
- Ability to cancel transactions that have not yet been processed in the case of error or unneeded future-dated transactions.
Bruce Tompkins, Director of API Project Management at FNBO, said the catalyst for the new ACH APIs came from collaboration with several FNBO national customers that expressed a need for expanded functionality.
“We’re proud we’ve built strong relationships with our long-standing customers,” Tompkins said. “That open dialogue allows us to develop the payment capabilities they need in an ever-evolving business environment.”
Carrie Zoucha, Vice President of Commercial Payments at FNBO, echoed Tompkin’s comments about the ACH APIs.
“This move aligns with our commitment to our customer success and our promise to deliver innovation and excellence in our payments solutions,” she said.
The new ACH APIs offer quick implementation and ease of use, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for companies of all sizes that want the enhanced capabilities.
