From: Clark Lauritzen, Chairman and President, FNBO

A note to the dedicated employees of FNBO, our valued customers, friends, colleagues and communities,

I am writing today to share our sadness as we announce the passing of my father, Bruce Lauritzen.  Bruce was an incredible businessman and inspiring leader.  His career at FNBO spanned more than 55 years and his contribution to FNBO’s 166-year history was immense.  Under Bruce’s leadership, the bank experienced tremendous growth, expansion of our footprint to six new states and construction of the FNBO Business Park and the First National Tower.  Bruce ensured that FNBO would remain privately-owned during many difficult times in the banking industry and gracefully transitioned FNBO to the 6th generation of family leadership.  Bruce leaves a tremendous legacy as a leader at FNBO, but also as a compassionate man with a great deal of respect and love for his family and commitment to his community.

As a result of thoughtful planning and preparation over many years, FNBO is well positioned for the future.  I will continue as Chairman and President of FNBO, as well as our holding company, First National of Nebraska (FNNI).  My family’s involvement and commitment to our organization remain unchanged.  My sisters, Meg Lauritzen Dodge and Blair Lauritzen Gogel, will continue as active members of the FNNI Board.  I want to reassure you that despite receiving this difficult news, the Lauritzen family leadership will continue, and our privately-owned structure will remain for generations to come.

My family appreciates the outpouring of love, respect and condolences during this difficult time.  We are overwhelmed by messages, and hope you understand that it may simply not be possible to respond to each one.  Please know that we are truly grateful for the support and remembrance of our father, Bruce Lauritzen.
