We are committed to making a positive impact in all the places we call home but cannot do so alone. That’s why we partner with community organizations across our footprint who are dedicated to improving one or more of our seven elements of a successful community. We provide support in the form of donations, sponsorships, impact grants, financial education, and volunteerism. View the tabs below to learn more and to request support.

Community Sponsorships & Capital Donations

FNBO is proud to support nonprofit organizations and community events that are important to our communities. We do this by providing community sponsorships and capital or major donations that align with our seven community focus areas. We review requests for support on a monthly basis to ensure timely decisions are provided to our community partners.

community sponsorship is defined as unrestricted financial support to a nonprofit organization in association with a community event or other general fund raising effort for the primary purpose of providing support to the organization. This can include but is not limited to:

  • Fundraisers or other events (i.e. galas, festivals, luncheons, parades)
  • General activities/operations of an organization
  • Season "sponsorships" for organizations dedicated to enhancing arts and culture

capital or major donation is defined as restricted financial support to a nonprofit organization in response to a major capital raise by the organization to fund a specific project or program. This can include but is not limited to:

  • Capital campaigns
  • Construction, renovation, or other major projects the organization is undertaking

Impact Grants

At FNBO, we envision a future where all our communities are strong and successful. We understand that in order to achieve that vision, every individual must have access to the tools, resources and opportunities that help them do more – to reach their goals and improve their overall financial well-being. That is why our Impact Grant Program focuses on partnering with and empowering nonprofit organizations that break down barriers to economic and social opportunities. Our Impact Grant Program addresses needs related to Affordable Housing & Neighborhood Revitalization, Workforce Development & Entrepreneurship, and Financial Literacy, Adult Education & Security. The funding focus within each category includes:

  • Affordable Housing & Neighborhood Revitalization: Increasing or maintaining access to safe, affordable, and quality housing or stimulating revitalization in blighted, underserved, and distressed communities.
  • Workforce Development & Entrepreneurship: Growing local economies through small business development and job creation.
  • Financial Literacy, Adult Education & Security: Strengthening individual core competencies that will improve personal economic self-sufficiency, through adult financial literacy, vocational and employability training, and adult basic education.

Organizations that are current and/or past recipients of grants from FNBO will receive a link to the application via an email from the Impact by FNBO team when the grant cycle opens on June 3, 2024. The cycle will remain open until Friday, June 21, 2024, with notifications targeted in September 2024.

Organizations that have not received a grant from FNBO in the past must email the Impact by FNBO Team to receive a link to the application. This step can be completed at any time and you do not need to wait until the grant cycle opens to request a link.

It’s important to note the application process is not ‘closed’ and any organization is welcome to apply. This step in the process allows the Impact by FNBO Team to better understand the focus of your organization and help you determine the best course of action before you begin the grant application.

Financial Education

FNBO partners with local employers, schools, and nonprofit organizations to deliver financial education services and tools throughout our communities. Our financial education courses are designed to improve financial literacy and understanding of the banking industry by teaching topics such as budgeting, investing, savings, credit, homeownership, and small business development.

Volunteerism

FNBO employees become a key component to strengthening our communities when they volunteer their time or donate to a cause. That’s why give each employee a minimum of eight hours of paid volunteer per time per year as well offer select employee directed giving and donation matching programs.
