Charles joined First National Bank in 2007 and currently leads the corporate retirement plan advisory department. In this position he has the overall responsibility for the coordination and delivery of investment advice, fiduciary consultation and vendor searches for retirement plan sponsors and investment committees.
Charles is a frequent speaker on fiduciary responsibilities and investment committee best practices. He provides fiduciary support to clients through the development of committee charters, investment policy statements, legislative and regulatory guidance, fiduciary due diligence and audit support.
Prior to joining First National’s Wealth Management division, Charles was an associate attorney for the law firm of Baird Holm, LLP, specializing in employee benefits.
Charles earned his Bachelor of Science from Ohio University, JD Degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and his LLM from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He also holds his QKA from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries and is a member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and Pension Council of the Midlands.
Charles is always on the run – literally. He is passionate about competitive running, and the buck doesn’t stop at one mile; he’ll race at any given mileage, including ultra-marathons.
When not putting miles in on pavement, he enjoys researching and sharing his love of history. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Douglas County Historical Society and hopes to eventually travel to the ancestral home of every one of his grandparents.
